FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Greetings Medinah Primary School Families!

We are looking forward to starting the 2023-2024 school year with each of you. As a Medinah Primary learning community, we are committed to partnering with you to ensure your child is supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Safety is our top priority at MPS. Please work with us and follow the drop-off and pick up procedures:

  • Drop off for AM Preschool i 8:10-8:15am, PM: 12:20-12:30pm.

  • Drop off for AM-K-2 is 8:20-8:40am, PM Kindergarten is 12:25-12:35pm.

  • Students must exit curbside.

  • If parents want to get out of the car to assist their child, please park in a parking spot and walk your child to the curb.

  • If you arrive AFTER 8:15 (preschool) or 8:40 (K-2) please park in a parking spot and walk your child up to the door.

  • When dropping off or picking up in the afternoon, please do not enter the recess area. We need to make sure only students and supervisors are on the playground.

  • When you drop something off for your child, you will be buzzed in and asked to put the item on the table in the vestibule. There are post-it notes and pens for you to label the item. We will deliver it to your child.

As always, Medinah Schools are committed to Every Student, Every Day.

Kindly,

Erin Berwick

Principal

5ESSENTIALS SURVEY

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Teachers, parents, and students across Illinois will have an opportunity to participate in the Illinois 5Essentials Survey: Organizing Schools for Improvement. The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is an Illinois State Board of Education initiative designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school. The University of Chicago is conducting the survey on behalf of the State Board of Education. District 11 teachers and students in grades 4-8 will complete the survey during the regular school day.

District 11 parents may visit the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey

Your participation in the Survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. However, District 11 will ONLY receive the survey results if at least 20 percent of parents respond to the survey. Your identity and responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your child. We strongly encourage our parents to participate, as the feedback generated from the survey will only help us to focus our improvement efforts.

For more information about the Illinois 5Essentials Survey, please visit this link. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact 5Essentials Client Services at 1-866-440-1874 or i[email protected]
