Dear Medinah Families,

I hope this latest letter finds everyone well.  As I mentioned in my notice to families on May 9th, we continue to finalize plans for the end of the 2020 school year.  Please see the list of important dates below. 

 

May 18 – May 21  

  • MMS library book drop-off (7:00am – 7:00pm) 

  • Please drop off books in the vestibule of the main entrance 

June 1 

  • Student work completion days, all assignments due  

June 2 

  • MMS 1 Mile Fun Run – optional participation – watch for details 

June 3 

  • End of year celebrations/good-byes with staff (via internet) 

  • Medinah Middle School 8th Grade Promotion – Video link will be shared to all graduating families 

  • LIGHT UP MEDINAH – Community Activities – Celebrate our 8th Grade Graduates – watch for details 

 

June 4 

  • MMS - Grade level - student pickup/drop off  in parking lot main entrance (bus loop) 

  • 6th grade - Thursday, June 4th @ 9:00am-10:30am 

  • 7th grade - Thursday, June 4th @ 10:30am - 12:00pm 

  • 8th grade - Thursday, June 4th @ 1:00pm - 2:30pm 

  • During this time families can drop off textbooks, band instruments and Chromebooks, while picking up student materials. 

  • All students and parents shall remain in their cars 

  • We recommend using the attached Car Sign to help our runners easily track your child’s belongings 

  • June 5 

  • Alternate pickup/drop off  - times TBD 

 

The 2019-20 school year will be one that is always remembered for many reasons.  Our hope is that we can continue to build connections, celebrate one another and create as many more positive experiences these final few weeks for our very deserving students at MMS

Health & Wellness Policy
 
In order to support healthy choices and support a culture of wellness at Medinah Middle School, along with our concern for food allergies and childhood obesity, treats for celebrations and special occasions in the form of food items will NOT be allowed. If a food item is brought in, it will not be served and will be sent home. Examples of what will no longer be allowed: cupcakes, donuts, etc., for birthday treats; pizza, pop, chips, etc., for sharing in lunch room.

8th Grade/Incoming LP Freshman
 
The Lake Park Math Department recommends all math students continue to practice their mathematical skills over the summer. In light of the school closure due to COVID-19, there will not be a quiz over these topics. Here are the links to our suggested practice. The courses listed are for students that are entering that course in the fall.
