Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!

Staff across the district have been busy over the summer months working to update the curricula and assessments. They are eager to share this information with families at the various back to school events in the next few weeks.

The maintenance and technology departments have been preparing the buildings as well as the various devices and programs for student and staff use. As always, safety is important to Medinah School District #11. We ask that all visitors report to the office, sign-in and present state identification to enter the buildings. Also, please be sure to update your emergency contact information with each school office.

To support the work of Medinah Chooses Kind and our Social Emotional initiatives, all staff spent the morning together during the first Institute Day learning about restorative strategies presented by Dr. Robert Spicer to help all children be successful. Please take time with your child/children every day to teach them how to actively listen and respond to others during a conversation. Sometimes we have so much going on in our busy lives, we forget to really listen to people.

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is a wonderful organization and needs your support. Please contact Cheryl Sefton if you are interested in helping or just plan to attend one of the PTO meetings.

Medinah School District #11 has a productive year ahead and we look forward to helping each and every student flourish.
