Dear Families,

We have had a great start to the school year!  From day one, students have been engaged in learning activities that allow them to think deeply and critically about their academic and social emotional learning. Students have reviewed classroom and school expectations and are doing a great job showing their teachers they can be respectful, responsible, and safe in the school environment.  Medinah District 11 students, families, and staff have continued to embrace the district wide theme “Medinah Chooses Kind” and are continuing to think of acts of kindness we can do every day in school.

First through fifth grade students  have completed Fall MAP testing in Reading and Math.  The students worked extremely hard and did their best during testing.  FastBridge benchmark assessments have also been given in reading and math.  The teachers at both schools will be reviewing the data carefully to provide the best education to your child and will share the results with you at conferences.

Clubs will be starting in October. Clubs are a great way for students to become involved in different aspects of school.  We hope that by participating in clubs, students will get to share their talents and make lifelong friends! Please be on the lookout for information from your child’s school.

We are looking forward to all of our families attending Parent-Teacher Conferences coming up on Thursday, October 4 and Friday, October 5. We are excited to have the students, along with their parents attend our October conferences to focus on setting goals for the 2018-19 school year.  Kindergarten conferences are for parents only.

Finally, we would like to thank our fantastic PTO for their dedication to our schools and community.  They work hard every day to support students and teachers by involving families. The PTO is always looking for volunteers.

We greatly value the relationships we build with you and recognize that you are your child’s most important teacher! Please continue to get involved creating a family and community partnership that will help lead to student success. Thank you for all you do to support us and please do not hesitate to contact us at any time throughout the year.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Melissa Langietti
